Study I :
investigating on factors that supports personal growth through digital technologies
The primary goal of our initial survey study was to investigate how individuals perceive the use of technology for self-expression and its connection to personal development. We collected 138 valid responses from a wide distribution of the survey. Through ANOVA analyses that looked into variations in how participants viewed their own creativity and differences in personal growth outcomes based on demographic attributes such as age, education, and gender, we found that those who considered themselves more creative reported higher personal growth levels. By gaining insights into users' views and preferences, our aim is to guide the creation of digital solutions that enhance well-being and foster personal advancement.
Investigating the Relationship Between Self-Expression Preference and Emotional State
Study II:
Description
Description
This study aims to test three different self-expression modalities: writing, drawing, and body movement and their effects on our emotions. Each participant will be first asked to write about any positive experience, draw something related to that experience, and then express the experience through body movements without verbal explanation.
This process will be repeated to reflect on a negative experience. Before the study begins, participants will complete the PGIS II and PANAS questionnaires to examine scores on personal growth and overall well-being respectively.
During the observation phase, participants will wear an Empatica watch to measure their Electrodermal Activity (EDA) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals, capturing unconscious signs. Additionally, all observation sessions will be video-recorded to document their body and facial expressions.
